Howdy y’all!
I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering and Geology of the University of Chieti-Pescara, and I am doing a year sabbatical at the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX. I am also in the Scientific Council of the Alpine Laboratory of Paleomagnetism.
In my research I apply paleomagnetism to structural geology (tectonic rotations, shear zones, active tectonics), marine geology, and geochronology. For over a decade, my main research interests centered on the Apennines, a classic thrust-fold belt strongly affected by inversion tectonics. In recent years, I invested my research in marine geology, taking advantage of funding opportunities with the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) (Expedition 368 and 368X to the South China Sea Rifted Margin, Expeditions 395C and 395 on the V-shaped Reykjanes Ridge, Expedition 405 in the Japan Trench).
