Movement and strength training have been a huge part of my life for the past decade, and beyond. I realized at some point that a commitment to daily movement made all the difference to my mental and physical health. I also realized that by adding a thought out and consistent strength training routine I could increase injury resilience and regain mobility I had lost from a wide range of injuries I've accumulated over the years.
I am an athlete and a rock climber. In a quest to get better at my sport by adding strength and injury resilience I have dedicated myself to lifelong learning in the discipline of strength and fitness and applied it to myself. This passion drives me and gives me purpose. In an effort to "do what I love" in life, I have discovered that I get the same excitement and purpose (more even!) in helping others move well and more often, no matter where their starting point is. This was the motivation I needed to become a certified personal trainer and to pursue training as a career.

My philosophy for introducing more movement to most individual's lives is to:
Find and address any mobility issues and movement limitations to the greatest extent that we can, or need to.
Use multi-joint exercises to strengthen all joints within and up to the limits of their mobility by focusing on the four basic human movement patterns; the push, the pull, the squat, and the hinge. For all of these basic movements our goal will be to find appropriately difficult exercises for each individual that will be practiced and mastered. Movement and strength are skills that take time to learn and everyone learns at a different pace. We will move at your pace and prioritize form.
Add in other movements and exercises for fun, for challenge, or to better reach your individual goals.
Whether you are a beginner who doesn't know where to start or an athlete who needs help with direction, programming, or new skills, I would love to work with you.
