About Me

I am a doctoral student at Webster University, in Saint Louis, Missouri. My program is Transformative Learning in the Global Community.  My research interests include trauma training for teachers and trauma curriculum to meet the needs of young scholars dealing with transitional housing.

I started my career in education as a preschool assistant in Lawrence, KS while I was getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kansas. After graduating, I became a full-time preschool teacher. During this time, I continued attending KU while working on my Masters in Education. After receiving my Masters, I taught Early Childhood Special Education for 9 years in Kansas City before moving back to Illinois where my family is.  I am currently in my 4th year of teaching kindergarten with the St. Louis Public School District.
