Polarization in the American Political System

In this extensive literature review, I analyzed the various fields of scholarly research regarding the sources of polarization in American politics and organized a research methodology for testing my research hypothesis. The goal of my research is to determine whether only political elites who drive political discussions and decisions are polarized, or if the broader public, including these elites, are polarized at large. I leave my reader with a detailed plan for investigating and resolving this research question.
