SPAN 2010: Intermediate Spanish
The course focused on learning the different verb conjugations, different tenses, and the subjunctive tense. This class especially emphasized speaking with international speakers and communicating with other classmates in Spanish.
SPAN 2020: Intermediate Spanish
The course focused on the different uses of the subjunctive tense and on the Hispanic culture as a whole.
SPAN 3050: Intermediate Spanish Conversation/Composition I
This course focused on compositional writing and conversation. More specifically, the course went more in-dept in the subjunctive tenses and taught students how to better hold conversation. Additionally, the class emphasized the importance of cultural appreciation and every week the class was taught about a different Hispanic country.
SPAN 3150: Spanish for Health Professionals
This course focused on medical concepts and terminology in Spanish. It is designed for students who plan to work in professions related to public health care.
SPAN 4180: Technical Spanish for Health Management Professionals
This course focused on technical health communication in Spanish with emphasis on managerial and business aspects of the international health industry.
SPAN 4190: Health & Hispanic Community
This was a course that focuses on the study of cultural aspects of health and health services in Hispanic populations.
SPAN 3070:The Hispanic World: Spain
This course was an introduction to the significant aspects of the culture of Spain. Emphasis is placed on the development of the political, economical, geographical, social, and artistic aspects of Spain from the Roman empire to the present.
SPAN 3040: Intro to Hispanic Literary Forms
This course was on introduction to the basic structures and elements of fiction, poetry, drama, and essay, including literary and critical theory, with readings in 19th- and 20th-century Spanish and Spanish-American literature.
SPAN 4420: Translation Seminar
This course was an introduction of the various methods of translation, interpretation, and had a service learning component where students worked with on outside client to translate various documents for a local clinic.
