Hi! My name is Sarah. I was born on February 11, 2005 in Bakersfield, California, although I was raised for most of my life in Roseville, California. I am currently in my 3rd year at Dominican University of California majoring in Biology and minoring in Music and Global Public Health.
I have always had an interest in biology. My dream from kindergarten up until my junior year of high school was to become a marine biologist. I especially found interest in conservation efforts and the effects of consumerism and global warming on the ocean. In my junior year while taking my IB Biology class I realized that I did have a deep interest in biology, but I found I was more passionate in the biology of humans. I specifically loved learning about the intricacies of diseases and how they worked on a cellular level. I then decided that I didn't want to be a marine biologist-- I wanted to be a physician.
Unlike with biology I have not always been interested in music. My interest started when I joined a community choir in 7th grade, the Northern California Children's Chorus. I participated in this choir up until the end of my senior year and it really helped me blossom into the person I am. Learning through music helped me to build perserverance and a yearning to get better at everything that I do. I have continued my journey in music at Dominican and I am part of the Dominican Chorale as well as A Capella.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, boyfriend, and family. As explained above I am an avid vocalist and I love singing in my free time. Additionally, I love traveling to new places! Pictured to the side are some of the adventures that I have gone on over the years.
