Originally from a small town in Oklahoma, I moved to Arizona in July of 2021 to pursue my PhD at the University of Arizona in Pharmacology & Toxicology. Through my extracurricular involvement at the UofA, I found my passion in social justice and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEIA) work. Serving in executive positions of the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy Graduate Student Council showed me first-hand the struggles my fellow students were experiencing in addition to experiencing my own hurdles. I believe that there is tremendous room for DEIA work in higher education.
