I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the District of Columbia. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Mary Washington College and my Master degree in Social Work with a clinical focus from Catholic University of America's National Catholic School of Social Service in 2013.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to gain experience providing individual and group psychotherapy in a number of settings including private practice, community mental health, inpatient, and virtually from my basement office. In addition, I have provided therapeutic services, crisis stabilization, and case management services to families, children, and adolescents involved with the District of Columbia's child welfare system.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, attachment and strengths-based, and solution-focused. We will collaboratively identify treatment goals as well as the steps to reach them. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing with a Family Systems informed approach. I believe that insight must be accompanied by the skills to make and maintain change.
In order to continue my professional development, I participate in ongoing trainings, continuing education, read voraciously, keep up up to date on therapist podcasts, and engage in peer consultation.
