Entrepreneurship Modules

These eLearning modules introduce learners to the general foundations of intellectual property.

Responsibility: Instructional Design

Overview

I was excited to be a part of this project with the University of Toronto Entrepreneurship, tasked with two eLearning courses. The first was to revamp an existing course which covered the foundations of intellectual property and the second was the creation of a new course which covered patent strategies. The aim of this project was to develop a free, open educational resource. Level 1 - IP Foundations can be viewed for free online. Both Level 1 and Level 2 - Patent Strategies is available for download on eCampus Ontario's Open Library.

Process

I completed a thorough analysis of the existing modules to align them more closely with the defined learning objectives. A key focus was on enhancing learner engagement and retention, which I addressed by improving case studies, quizzes, and interactive activities in collabortion with subject matter experts. I also identified areas where content could be enriched with video and worked closely with the multimedia developer to bring these ideas to life. Lastly I collaborated with the eLearning developer to ensure the courses were compliant with AODA and WCAG accessibility standards.
