'But a contract, a crime, a trial are men facing each other. It means that you have to understand those men to understand the law. But this is a matter that rebels against numbers and also against words "
[F. Carnelutti." Matematica e Diritto "]
Legal experience, so to speak, does not agree well with mathematical interpretations. Although, I take the liberty to say that Law, especially in its applicative dimension, sometimes needs to use mathematical rules.
Just think of the calculation of the sentence, with all its complex system of increases and decreases. An operation that is anything but trivial and with a crucial outcome.
In order to facilitate this delicate procedure, I created PARCO. Those who are familiar with the mechanisms for calculating the penalty will have recognized the acronym
Pena base : Basic Penalty
Aggravante\ Attenunante : Aggravating \ Attenuating
Recidiva : Recidivism
COntinuazine : Continuation
which summarizes one of the most recurrent commensurative sequences. For those, on the other hand, who are fond of algebra, we could refer to these sequences as non-commutative operations, the result of which depends on the order!
Thanks to PARCO you can easily and sequentially carry out multiple operations to increase, reduce and convert (from custodial to monetary and vice versa) of the sentence to be quantified. PARCO therefore intends to offer a tool, simple and intuitive to use, to facilitate and simplify the practical profile of decisions whose "merit" is certainly not entrusted to a cold calculation, but which requires accuracy and precision.
PARCO is available for IOS (Android in preparation) and is completely free because I believe that skills and knowledge must be made available to the community as a contribution to its operation.
