I have a range of resources to help with phonic pronunciation and recognition, including flashcards, songs and games.
Reading and Comprehension
Using a variety of reading materials, phonic knowledge will be used to decode words and sentences, and discussion will follow to show understanding.
Writing
Creative methods will be used to improve writing about subjects that interest each child, making sure different styles/types of writing such as fiction, non-fiction and poetry are covered.
Spelling and Grammar
Starting with commonly used or high-frequency words, spelling will be improved using repetition, look-cover-write-check, and through editing own work.
In order to improve grammar, good examples of written work will be examined. Good grammar will be highlighted and used in your child's own written work.
Handwriting
There are plenty of fun ways to improve pen control to make handwriting neat and legible. Finger gym is a great way to improve fine motor skills and strengthen fingers to enable greater coordination and manipulation of writing implements.
