MySAPS is the official mobile app of the South African Police Service. It's not a job application tool — you can't apply for posts through it — but it's the fastest way to reach police services from your phone: find the nearest police station, report a crime, and access SAPS services and emergency numbers.
If you're applying to join SAPS, installing it is a good way to familiarise yourself with the organisation you're hoping to join.
- Find police stations near you, with contact details and directions
- Report crimes and incidents directly
- Emergency numbers — 10111 and Crime Stop 08600 10111 — one tap away
- SAPS news and alerts, including wanted persons and missing persons notices
Install MySAPS only from the official app stores:
- Android: Google Play Store — search "MySAPS"
- iPhone: Apple App Store — search "MySAPS"
Check the developer name before installing — it must be the official SAPS listing. Never install it from a link someone sends you on WhatsApp, a file download site, or any "APK" offered outside the Play Store. Fake versions of official apps are a classic way to steal personal data.
The app is free. If any site or person asks you to pay for it, that's a scam.
Recruitment scams spike around every intake. One common trick is a fake "SAPS recruitment app" or a WhatsApp message linking to an application form. Remember: applications happen only at erecruitment.saps.gov.za, in your phone or computer browser. There is no official SAPS recruitment app, and SAPS will never ask you to apply through WhatsApp.
