SAPD Traffic Services Unit

The SAPD Traffic Services Unit encompasses a diverse range of sub-divisions, each committed to addressing specific traffic-related concerns. These sub-divisions include, but are not limited to:

• Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) : Our CVE officers are dedicated to ensuring the safe and legal operation of commercial vehicles on our roadways. Through meticulous inspections and enforcement, they contribute significantly to reducing accidents and maintaining the integrity of our transportation systems.

• Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) Enforcement: The DWI Enforcement Unit plays a crucial role in combating impaired driving, one of the leading causes of serious traffic accidents. Our officers in this division actively enforce DWI laws, conduct sobriety checkpoints, and work diligently to protect innocent lives from the devastating consequences of impaired driving.

• Speed Enforcement Unit: Speeding remains a significant concern on our roads, contributing to numerous accidents and fatalities each year.
