Oranges are most well known for their amazing amount of vitamin C. They are packed with other good sources of vitamins and minerals like thiamin, folate and potassium. The skin of an orange is indigestible, but the white pith is where most of the nutrients are found. For juicing I always leave the white pith on.
#Fun Fact: Christopher Columbus brought the first orange seeds and seedlings to the New World on his second voyage in 1493. Now the Americas are the largest producer of oranges in the world!
It is thought that oranges were cultivated in China as long ago as 1500 B.C.
