3rd year Bachelor's internship at Laser & Plasma Technology Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India

• Characterized the various nonlinear oscillators found in literature using MATLAB simulation
• Demonstrated control of multi-stability in an analog electronic circuit version of the Duffing oscillator and observed different bifurcations possible in the experimental setup

2nd year Bachelor's Internship at Sinter & Iron Group, Tata Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur, India

• Optimized the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system that finds the flow velocity and direction of ore-particles from a sequence of their images taken by a high-speed camera
• Reduced processing time by more than 90% by optimizing the image processing algorithms

Other activities

• Social service: During my studies at IIT Kharagpur, I taught Mathematics, Science and English to underprivileged and socially-backward children as a volunteer for Gopali Youth Welfare Society.
• Music: I learnt Hindustani Classical music in childhood and continue pursuing it. I was an active member of the Music Team in college. Secured Silver medal in the Inter-hall Eastern Groups event in 2009.
• Swimming: Have been a swimming enthusiast since learning it a year ago.
• Hardware design: I was an active member of the Inter-hall Hardware Design Team, Azad Hall of Residence, IIT Kharagpur
  • Designed SIGNS, a speech-producing aid to help deaf and dumb persons communicate with others. This product won Silver medal in Inter-hall Hardware Design 2010.
  • Designed Quill Pad, a low-cost note-taking solution aimed at students belonging to lower-middle class families. It won Silver medal in Inter-hall Hardware Design 2008.
• Coding: Finalist in Overnite, an ACM ICPC certified C programming contest, conducted during KSHITIJ 2008. 50 teams out of 600 national and international teams were selected after the preliminary rounds.
• Quiz:
  • Won the 1^st prize in Science Quiz conducted by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), New Delhi as a part of National Science Exhibition 2005.
  • Won the 3^rd prize at the Semi-final level in All India CBSE-Intel Science Quiz 2005.
