Sandhills Machine started because we saw talented student-athletes in rural communities who had the ability to compete at a high level but lacked access, exposure, and structured support. Too often, opportunity was determined by geography and finances rather than work ethic and potential.
After decades of coaching, the founders understood that basketball could be more than competition - it could be a vehicle for discipline, accountability, education, and life preparation. We wanted to create a program that combined high-level development with mentorship and academic expectations, ensuring that student-athletes were prepared not just for college recruitment but for adulthood.
Sandhills Machine was built to bridge gaps - financial gaps, exposure gaps, and mentorship gaps - so that young people in underserved areas could compete, grow, and pursue opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
Sandhills Machine staff make it happen. #DoWORK.
