Co-Investigator: We, a team of five partners from Cardiff Met, have secured an £81,000 grant from Google DeepMind to run an outreach program on Artificial Intelligence in 2024. The outreach program by Google DeepMind will introduce undergraduate students to Artificial Intelligence in a fun and simple way. Through hands-on activities and guidance, it will help them understand AI basics, spark curiosity, and build confidence. This program will prepare students for future technology opportunities and inspire them to explore AI.
Principal Investigator: Wales-Karnataka Universities Partnerships Project, The fund was for a one-week bootcamp comprising of a series of interactive sessions and talks for the computer science staff (and some students) at the Raichur University. The first part of this bootcamp was based on interactive hands-on technical sessions in AI and Computer vision. This part covered current latest technologies/approaches (including implementation) related to Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. The second part of the bootcamp covered the ethical considerations related to the above-mentioned technologies (for example - at present, people are using generative AI like Deepfakes, but they should also be aware of the ethical aspects of these technologies), 2023-24.
