Blended learning is when students are put into environments both online and in the classroom and encouraged to collaborate ideas and work together. Students help students and listen to each other's ideas. Teachers will use technology to apply blended learning in the classroom when they want to see if students are completing there work- not just by completing it- but also understanding it. They can see if students understand by checking the comment sections as well when students comment on one another's ideas online. Blended learning is great for students because they are able to engage with their other classmates in order to learn from one another which is one of the best forms of learning. Blended learning is great for teachers because it's a fast way to monitor the progress for students and check to see how they are doing.
A flipped classroom is when teachers change the traditional learning environment of a classroom- the setting, the focuses of learning, and the methods used to teach. The teacher becomes the facilitator rather than the person by the chalkboard. The attention of the classroom is on the students and the learning that is happening rather than on listening to the teacher speak. Teachers will use it to practice more of the contemporary methods of teaching: Universal Design for Learning, Inquiry Learning, Project Based Learning. It is a fun and engaging learning method for students to pay more attention and be a part of the learning process.
