For this project, I explored how social media impacted my life and how it affected the world around me.
After taking the "AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA?" It showed me that I have been the same way with social media despite needing to reduce my time on social media. Although i will try to reduce my time on social media having a job will make that very hard especially if I need to go online at home.
You're fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits! Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?
The interesting fact that stood out to me the most from the article was the demographic groups that use online platforms. I found this interesting because the age and money making, and use of social media is what was eye opening to me.
I learned social media can have a positive impact on someone's life but can also create a negative view on that person. A person being able to have a life change because the social impact to connect with someone else across the country or the world and have the ability to work with that person to make job decisions or publishing issues. However negativity on social media can cause so much harm to someone, from mental health issues, suicide, disconnection from society and more. social media can have such a great impact on everyone's life once used the correct way but there's always someone who wants to the do the opposite and makes society very cautious of privacy on the web and in person.
I learned i need to cut back on-screen time so i can have less physical harm on my eyes and neck because of the way I use my phone it is not natural at all. With those usage on social media i know to use it for uplifting others and sharing opinions I want others to know but be very careful because for every positiveside there's always a negative side to something.
