Theater Club (C, A, S)
G9 - G11
G9 - G11
We had many activities in the theater club. We spent most of our time however playing various acting related games and learning the technical backstage equipment, like the lighting and sound systems by getting the privilege of being able to play and experiment around with them; learning by trial. While I was already a strong actor when I joined the club in 9th Grade, I didn't know anything about backstage, so getting that experience was completely novel and eye opening to me.
As part of the club, I also organized and held various events like dance night, where I got to use the lighting skills I learnt, practically, to make cool light effects with the music for the people dancing.
So even though I entered the club as a good actor, by the time it was disbanded in 11th grade, I left it with more experience, and knowledge of all the elements and roles that surround an actor and facilitate their work on the stage, sound, lighting, costume, set design, etc.
C - Playing games, acting
A - Moving large equipment, acting on stage, physical and vocal flexibility
S - Hosting booths, running events
