Venue

The pre-conference workshop will take place in room 4/5 (3rd floor) of the Manchester Meeting Place (13 on the campus map). There are two entrances into the building which provide access to all floors. You will find the lift and building Reception at the entrance adjacent to the lower ground floor of the Barnes Wallis building.

The conference will take place in the Harwood Room (1st floor) of the Barnes Wallis building (9 on the campus map). Access to the building is via Altrincham Street, a pedestrian walkway running through the campus, parallel with the railway arches. Please enter the building on the upper level over the bridge and follow the event signposting. There is a large sculpture of a red magnet on the walkway immediately outside the entrance.

The conference dinner will be held in the Mancheseter Museum(44 on the campus map).

Travel

By train – the conference venue is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from Manchester Piccadilly rail station, marked on the campus map.

By air – trains run regularly from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly rail station.

By car – parking is available in the Charles Street multi-storey car park (A on the campus map) close to the conference venue. The charge is £10.00 for 24 hours or various lower rates per part day. Collect a ticket on entry and pay at a machine prior to collecting your vehicle.

Since campus buildings are not located on public roads we can’t provide building post codes; use postcode M1 3BB to locate the Charles Street car park, close to the conference venue.
