Student Bios

Carys Campbell

Carys is from Buckhannon, WV; she is a second-year student at Pierpont Community and Technical College in the Applied Design program for Fashion Merchandising. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is active in the applied design program. She enjoys clothing design and construction and is currently a seamstress and clothing designer. She specializes in pageant and formalwear projects. She is a self-taught seamstress and pattern maker; her biggest ambition is to bring to life the ideas that people have through clothing design. She hopes to broaden her skillset in design to one day own her own fashion label for evening wear. 

Athena Hardesty

Athena Hardesty is from Fairmont, WV; she is a second-year student at Pierpont Community and Technical College for Fashion Merchandising and is a member of the National Honor Society. She has experience in retail and hopes to broaden her knowledge of fashion to one day work for a clothing brand or start her own label. Athena aspires to be involved in the fashion industry however she can be, whether that be through buying, modeling, styling, or designing, she is ambitious to be involved in the world of fashion. She has plans of moving south after she graduates to work her way into that demographic of fashion. 

Gabryel Philips

Gabryel Philips is from Grafton, WV. She is a second-year student at Pierpont Community and Technical College in the Applied Design Program. She has experience working in a dress shop doing alterations. She does seamstress work and enjoys making clothing and accessories for animals. Her biggest influences in fashion are Steve Summers, Zaldy Goco, and Sassi Holford.
