Salman Sadiq Shuvo
Salman is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Saint Leo University, where he teaches and conducts research in artificial intelligence and data-driven systems. He also brings industry experience as a Data Scientist in the Analytics and Learning Team in Pacific Northwest National Lab, where he developed and deployed advanced AI models for real-world challenges in transportation, cybersecurity, and energy systems.
His expertise spans Deep Reinforcement Learning, Large Language Models, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation, with recent work including multi-agent traffic control, cyber-layer mapping, and wildfire documentation tools. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, where his research focused on reinforcement learning–based optimization for energy and socioeconomic systems.
Dr. Shuvo’s work has been published in leading venues such as IEEE Transactions, ICML, and IJCNN. Salman combines strong academic rigor with hands-on implementation skills, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Docker, and Transformers. A former intern at Samsung Research America, he also brings applied insights into wireless communication analytics.
He is a recipient of multiple travel and academic fellowships and has held leadership roles in academic and cultural organizations, reflecting his dedication to community building and interdisciplinary collaboration.
