Want to add our meetings to your calendar?
While our club is based at Salesforce HQ in San Francisco, we have opened opportunities for membership up to Salesforce employees in other locations. All of our meetings are conducted online via Google Meet or Zoom in Pacific Time. We meet alternating 🆕Thursdays🆕 12PM-1PM. As long as you can attend at that time, you’re welcome to join!
Although we may one day plan some occasional hybrid events or in-person events outside of our weekly meeting, you can rest assured that we will support online attendance for the Thursday meetings—after all, we have had members and officers as far away as Canada and New Zealand!
A club member is someone who has an account with Toastmasters International (an education nonprofit) and is in good standing (in terms of membership fees).
You don't have to be a member to attend meetings and earn VTO for taking on roles such as Ah Counter and Timer, but only registered members can give prepared speeches, participate in our speech contests, or pursue real leadership roles within the organization. Members are provided with speech projects to work on to hone public speaking skills, and become a part of an international organization of public speakers. Learn more about Pathways learning paths here.
Depending on who’s in charge at the time, we may also offer other benefits and special events! At the end of the day, you might even gain more work friends to hang out with at the office and Salesforce events, like Dreamforce!
Membership fees... You may be wondering if they are covered by the company. Great question! That depends on whether you are brand-new to Toastmasters (first-time member), transferring from another club, or are renewing your membership with Salesforce Toastmasters.
For brand-new members, Toastmasters International charges:
One-time new membership fee of $25 (subject to sales tax)
Biannual dues of $60, which you can either reimburse through your department (get approval from your manager) or pay out-of-pocket.
Your first 6 months will be pro-rated based on when you join. Renewals happen in September and March.
But how do I convince my manager to reimburse?
Just let your manager know that you're interested in improving your public speaking by joining Salesforce Toastmasters. Taking functionary or evaluation roles also makes the 1-hour meeting VTO eligible!
We may hold manager information sessions before a renewal period to explain the benefits of Toastmasters to help your leaders understand the expense. You can also send your manager this on-demand presentation (note that the dues have increased, and the meeting day of week has changed since this recording was taken).
Existing members of Salesforce Toastmasters owe $60 in dues every 6 months to Toastmasters International to retain member status.
If you feel this is too early in your speaking journey to join our club, we understand.
You are always welcome to attend a meeting as a guest, and after having introduced yourself at one meeting, you can take on “functionary roles” by signing up here. More info about functionary roles can be found here.

This is the typical journey for a new member:
Sign up for meeting invites and attend a few meetings. Google group approvals are completed in weekly batches, so you won't see our events on your calendar immediately. Be on the lookout for an email with a subject of, "Invitation: Salesforce Toastmasters Meeting" and remember to accept it.
Apply for membership by filling out this partially-filled application if you're a brand new member (or this blank application if you're just a new member to our specific club, Salesforce Toastmasters, club #01488281). Do not fill out the third page (credit card information) if you enjoy keeping your credit card info extra private, as you will also be able to self-pay on the Toastmasters website after your application has been processed by an officer.
Send your completed application to Christina Obligar, Interim VP of Membership who will follow up with you.
After processing your application with an officer, make your payment on the Toastmasters International website under "Renew or join to access".
Meet with the VP Education, Vincent Lowe to discuss your goals, sign up for your ice breaker speech, and select your path on Pathways (though you're welcomed to do this independently, as well).
