About

Collaborative Research and Design

The Learning Science CoLab is a design and research collaboratory (Boss et al. 2007) situated at the the Jackson School of Geosciences and led by Dr. Adam Papendieck. It supports research, assessment and innovation for better science teaching, learning and public engagement. The CoLab links natural scientists, social scientists and the public for systematic research and design that enhances the broader impacts of science.

Nominally initiated in 2022, the CoLab builds upon over five years of collaborative research and innovation, and exists to more strategically support these ongoing activities and develop new ones. Current focal points of collaborative work include formal graduate and undergraduate science education, informal science learning, science mentorship, science communication, public engagement in science, and science values and ethics.
