I'm pleased to present the results of our recent survey with you and the rest of the community. The survey was conducted throughout the months of December and January. It will remain open until the end of January. Below is a recap of the results received to date.
So far, sixty-two residents have participated in the survey. Residents were asked how long they have lived in San Bruno. One respondent has been here for 74 years, and the average length of time was 30 years. About 20% of the respondents have been here for less than 10 years. It was great to see a mix of long-time residents and newer residents all participating in improving our community.
A full 80% of the respondents rated their satisfaction with the city government 3 out of 5 or higher. The average of all the responses was 3, so most people are somewhat satisfied with the services they are provided.
The next question was about the priority issues in the district. The top concern among our neighbors who responded is the condition of roads and sidewalks. Parking and the condition of schools tied for second place. Traffic concerns also rated high. All the responses are provided in the table below for reference.
Finally, residents provided their suggestions for improving the city. The full list is available here: I made only a few minor spelling corrections to help with readability but otherwise the comments are exactly as submitted.
I am very grateful to all of you who took time to fill out the survey and also to those who helped get the word out. The feedback you provided will help me channel our efforts through out the year. In fact, I raised many of the items from the survey in our strategic planning session last Friday. Please look out for the next survey.
