Modus operandi

How do we do it

We just realized long ago that we are far too lazy and clumsy to make experiments. Besides our life is too short to spend it in painstakingly sophisticated experiments. Ultimately experiments would have to be made for solid scientific advancement but we leave that for those competent at it and do not mind to contribute with their grains to the global building of science. This does not mean that we think that there cannot be single groundbreaking experiments; simply these are rare and not within our competences. We do think, however, that there is a lot of data and experiments, specially in biology, that are not based on any explicit and well-through theory. We think experiments should be designed explicitly to tests specific hypotheses and the latter should be related, explicitly, to broader theories (or against specific theories). We also think that theories and mathematical models can be used to integrate existing data and experiments to clarify what they really tell us about nature and which experiments to make to further understand nature.
