Privacy Policy for Salah Bound

Salah Bound ("the app") is developed by Josef Allo ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it's used.
Information We Collect
Location data. The app uses your device's GPS location to calculate accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, and to detect your city name. Your location is sent to the free Aladhan prayer-times API (aladhan.com) solely to compute prayer times for that coordinate — it is not stored on our servers (we don't operate any servers) and is not linked to your identity.
Advertising data. The app shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and other technical identifiers to serve and measure ads, and may use this data for ad personalization depending on your device's ad settings. Crash and diagnostic data. The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically report crashes and errors, which may include device model, OS version, and a stack trace, to help us fix bugs. See Firebase's Privacy Policy (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
Purchases. If you purchase "Remove Ads," the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play's billing system. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Locally stored data. Your bookmarked verses, fasting tracker entries, prayer alarm preferences, and app settings are stored only on your device (never transmitted to us) and are deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its data.
What We Don't Collect
The app has no user accounts, login, or sign-up. We don't collect your name, email, or phone number, and we don't have a server that stores or processes your personal data.
Third-Party Content APIs
Quran text, Hadith text, and the 99 Names of Allah are fetched from free public APIs (quran package data, fawazahmed0/hadith-api, aladhan.com) over standard HTTPS requests. These requests are anonymous beyond the technical information inherent to any internet request (such as your IP address).
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you're in the EU/UK/EEA or California, you have rights over data collected about you, including the right to know what's collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of ad personalization.
- Ad personalization consent (EU/UK/EEA): on first launch from these regions, the app shows a consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) letting you choose whether ads are personalized. You can change this choice later from the app's Settings.
- Opting out of ad personalization generally: you can also turn off "Ads personalization" in your device's Google Settings at any time, which applies across all apps, not just this one.
- Since the app has no accounts or server-side storage, there's no personal profile of you to request or delete from us directly — locally stored app data (bookmarks, settings) can be erased anytime by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
