The new Volvo Penta D9 marine diesel engine offers low emissions, less noise, and less vibration while combining excellent performance with improved onboard comfort. Sportfishers between 40 and 50 feet, flybridge boats, and sportcruisers can all benefit from its 500 and 575 horsepower variants. Compact in size, the D9's 7-liter TAMD75 engine produced about 100 horsepower less than its predecessor. New turbo and electronically controlled unit injectors improved performance and fuel efficiency. Its EMS 2 electronic control system guarantees accurate fuel management and low emissions, while its symmetrical form and sturdy construction make maintenance and installation easier. For improved agility, the D9 also has electronically controlled transmissions with a low-speed option.
