Battle of Bastile: The Estates-General falls apart due to associates of the Third Estate creating their National Assembly in order to fight for changes in the constitution.

Strong feelings are shared amongst Paris regarding a possible revolt, which sparks concerns of a coup de etat. The rebels would attack the fortress of Bastille. King of France loses his rule over Paris. This celebration day is known as Bastile Day across France.
After a lengthy discussion regarding the new constitution and how it will function, insurgents detain the king. On 22 September the National Convention is created. This declares the monarchy being eradicated and the formation of the French Republic.
On 21 January 1793 the King is killed. After the execution, conflict occures between France and other European nations. Secret combat in the National Convention causes reformer Montagnards to have control over the country. This leads to a period emerging known as the Reign of Terror, which was a stage involving possible opponents of the revolution being murdered resulting in thousands of lost lives.

The Directory: A new government's reign begins. However the ongoing poltical crisis remains unbalanced, and becomes halted by an army led by a General known as Napolean Bonaparte. Then a stage of triumph in war where Belgium becomes conquered, Dutch Republic capitulates, goodwill is restored between the Prussians and Spanish.
The Napolean rulling era commences; The Directors first years in charge are a disaster as they are losing alot of power to the military. On 9 November 1799 Bonaparte overthrew the government in a coup de etat leading to an end in the Directory and him become the first consul of France. This was the beginning of France under Napoleonic rule.
