Hi, this is Monsieur Sajad JAFARI

Welcome to my Home page.

About Me

I am a Postdoc researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technolog in Stockholm, Sweden. Before joining KTH, I defended my PhD (Link), on March 28, 2022, in multiphase flows modelings, at CentraleSupélec-Paris Saclay université in Paris- France in collaboration with IFP Energies nouvelles (Rueil-Malmaison).
My current research is focused on the CFD modeling of carbon dioxide absorption as a common post-combustion carbon capture technique for mitigating the warming of the planet, to assess the influence of several parameters (as pressure, temperature, CO2 partial pressure, composition, ...) on the absorption rate. Characterizing the interaction between the CO2 phase transition, the liquid solvents, and the chemistry reactions is another focus of this research.

Before, I got my master degree in fluid mechanics engineering, in combustion systems, from Sharif University of technology in 2015, as the nation’s leading institution for science in my country. The main objectives of my Ph.D. and M.S. research projects were fundamental understanding, developing, and the simulation of fuel atomization, phase transition, and mixing process of multicomponent systems by developing various theoretical and numerical models such as Vapour liquid equilibrium tabulation(VLE), Analythical hydroynamic instability theory, and Volume of Fluid (VOF). During those years, I had various adventures to work with diverge trade codes as Converge CFD(C++), IFPC3D(Fortran based), Ansys fluent, and somehow OpenFOAM.

Besides, in order to further my education in addition to my studies in turbomachinery, I attended various courses and training sessions at the Institution of French Petroleum School (IFP school) on the energy economy and energy policies.

Here is my last updated CV (January, 2023)
