"Uncharted Waters, A Mariner's tale"

He has very engagingly narrated his life journey as a seafarer,vividly describing his coping mechanism to that life, his silent ascent to the pinnacle of his career, and finally, his philosophy of living a happy and healthy life till the ripe age of 80! It describes his 60 year long career, including the pinnacle of it when he was bestowed the Varuna Award in 2016. His expertise in port operations, pilotage, and ship management led to a very successful maritime consultancy enterprise, Sai Techno Consultants. He has also given back generously to the society around him. He financially supports and frequently coaches students of schools serving the underprivileged children in and around Mumbai. He is happily married to his wife, Dr. Ishwari Karkare, with whom he raised two daughters, Dr. Sujata Karkare and Sonia Karkare, both of whom are serving humanity and doing the Nation proud, just like him.

The book was launched at a grand function organized by the Bhandarkar publications team, on December 13th, 2019 on the "Angriya" cruise ship, as part of the Samudra Manthan Awards Ceremony, organized by Bhandarkar Publications as well.
