Monday, June 17th - Cleaning Day
Come and clean the Upper Room, organize bins, and throw out all the stuff that's been aimlessly hanging around. We'll get lunch there, somewhere, too. 9:15am Mass optional, 10am we start cleaning.
Friday, June 21st - XLT at St. Ladislas
St. Lads is hosting a week-long Eucharitic Revival event, capped off with an evening XLT, featuring a witness from our own Noel Maddox! Come and support him and spend some time praising the Lord. Starts at 7pm.
Thursday, June 27th - Cedar Point
What youth group summer would be complete without a trip to America's Rockin' Roller Coast (ride on!)? We'll leave St. Raphael around 9am, return around 11am, and have a full day of coaster riding in between. Cost is $50 and includes an all-day drink pass.
Tuesday, July 2nd - Ikea Columbus Day Trip
Did you know that the shelving in the Upper Room isn't aesthetic? Well, apparently it isn't! But it makes for a fun excuse to go down to Columbus for the day, visit the Book Loft, walk around Polaris Mass, and enjoy some Swedish Meatballs and lingonberry jam (some assembly required). Cost is free, bring money for food, books, and end tables.
July 15th-19th - Vacation Bible School
If you haven't signed up to help, what are you waiting for? Here's the link. It's a fun week of snacks, games, and bible buddies. And the teen leaders get to help make the little kids their Very Best Selves (tm)!
Plus, on Wednesday, July 17th, in place of Breakfast Club, we will travel to Fuji Chinese Buffet in Parma for Lunch after VBS (not sure when that tradition started, but it is a tasty one).
Saturday, July 20th - the Outpouring at Damascus
Join us for a community worship night! Be inspired by a message breaking open the truth and joy of the Gospel followed by a time of prayer ministry and worship with the Damascus Worship team as we pray together for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Event starts at 6:30pm, so we will leave St. Raphael at 4pm and return around 11:30pm. Parents are welcome to attend with us, too! Request is a $10 donation to cover gas for drivers.
Bonus: we have two HSM Alumni who are serving as missionaries this year - Tina Cirincione and Liam Walters. This is a fun way to support them, as well!
July 22nd-25th - Senior Forward at Genesee Abbey
For Seniors - an opportunity to get away from the noise, hang out with some monks, and look back on your last 4 years with an eye to the next 4. I love this event and I look forward to retreating with you! Cost is $100.
Sunday, August 4th - the FEST at the Center for Pastoral Leadership
An all-day Christian music and family festival on the grounds of the seminary. It's just a fun day of music, entertainment, and prayer, capped off with a huge outdoor Mass that almost never gets rained on. It is a really exciting day to just hang out as a youth group and take in all the FEST has to offer. We leave St. Raphael at 11am and return around 11pm.
August 9th-11th - HSM Camping Trip Be Thou My Vision
Nothing like a weekend in nature to reset your circadian rhythms and put you a little back in touch with the basics. We spend a weekend hiking, swimming, cooking over a fire, and kicking back while talking about what God wants of us for this next year. Just an excellent way to put an exclamation point on our summer.
