Catholic Education Scholarships at St. Christopher—Parish Pastoral Council

As you may already know, Bishop Robert Morlino has asked all parishes in our diocese to promote Catholic Education. Our Pastoral Council has been investigating the possibilities of offering scholarships for Catholic Education. Our recent survey has concluded that there is substantial interest and need for Catholic School Scholarships (C.S.S.) in our Parish.

We are pleased to report that in the fall of 2018, St. Christopher plans to distribute scholarships to assist with Catholic School Education. We know there will be many questions and hope to answer some of them on these pages. Please be patient with us as we continue to develop this program.

Renewing Our Commitment to Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools in the Third Millennium—Introduction

Young people are a valued treasure and the future leaders of our Church. It is the responsibility of the entire Catholic community—bishops, priests, deacons, religious, and laity—to continue to strive towards the goal of making our Catholic elementary and secondary schools available, accessible, and affordable to all Catholic parents and their children, including those who are poor and middle class. All Catholics must join together in efforts to ensure that Catholic schools have administrators and teachers who are prepared to provide an exceptional educational experience for young people—one that is both truly Catholic and of the highest academic quality

Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service

This means that we have to create the material and spiritual conditions for their full development; to give them a solid basis on which to build their lives; to guarantee their safety and their education to be everything they can be.."
