The Sailing Stones.
Pete Lane & The Sailing Stones
Modern acoustic indie folk / alternative pop
The Sailing Stones perform original songs written by singer-songwriter Pete Lane.
At its core, the band is a guitar duo featuring Pete Lane and Ed Duffield. The Stones also draw from a talented collective of guest lead players, allowing them to perform as a trio, quartet, or full band.
Their music is influenced by an eclectic landscape of classic and contemporary artists, spanning a diverse range of genres and decades — from The Beatles to Kings of Leon, Tom Waits to Sam Fender, Joe Strummer to Nick Cave, Fleetwood Mac to Kurt Vile, Supertramp to Jack Johnson, Bon Iver to Tom Petty, as well as Gomez, Radiohead, Beck, Eels, LCD Soundsystem, and Miles Davis.
The set meanders and dance through a journey of styles, tempos, and dynamics, carrying a mixture of moods and messages.
Lyrically engaging, sonically pleasing and entertaining, the music blends sweet and sour tones with a tongue-in-cheek humour.
“The Sailing Stones have a sound all of their own that feels somehow familiar.”
Ben Ottewell, Gomez
