One of the most common questions I get is, "What's the difference between a wedding coordinator and a wedding planner?"
The short answer? A wedding planner helps you plan the wedding. A wedding coordinator makes sure all of your planning comes together seamlessly on the wedding day. By the time we start working closely together, you've already booked your venue, started booking vendors, and made the big decisions. My job is to step in, learn every detail of your plans, create a comprehensive timeline, communicate with your vendors, and make sure everything runs smoothly so you don't have to answer questions or solve problems on your wedding day.
Think of me as the person who turns your months (or years!) of planning into a celebration that you actually get to enjoy!
✔ Share my vendor list and give wedding etiquette tips
✔ Create and manage your wedding day timeline
✔ Communicate with your booked vendors
✔ Direct the guests, wedding party, and family members
✔ Keep the ceremony and reception on schedule
✔ Assist in décor setup and room flips
✔ Handle behind-the-scenes issues before they reach you
✔ Be the point of contact for vendors, family, and guests
✔ Make sure you can actually enjoy your wedding day
To make sure expectations are clear, here are a few things that fall outside the scope of wedding day coordination:
✘ Plan your entire wedding from start to finish
✘ Book or negotiate contracts with vendors
✘ Make design or décor decisions for you
✘ Set up and tear down all of your decor
✘ Act as venue staff, clean the venue at the end of the night, or be the last to leave
✘ Bus tables, serve food, or perform catering duties
✘ Pack up every personal item or become the person responsible for completing the venue's entire exit checklist
At the end of the day, a wedding coordinator wears many hats, but we're only human. While I can't be in two places at once or do absolutely everything, my priority is making sure the moments that matter most happen seamlessly. My goal is simple: I want you to be fully present for the wedding you've spent months planning while I handle the logistics, coordinate your vendors, solve problems behind the scenes, and keep everything moving according to plan. Every wedding is unique, and I'm always happy to jump in and help wherever I can. My focus is on keeping your day running smoothly so you, your family, and your friends can relax, celebrate, make memories and not worry about what's happening behind the scenes. ✨
The short answer? Sometimes! I’m based in Maryville, TN, and I’m always happy to travel anywhere to celebrate with you! Weddings within a 40-mile radius of Maryville are included at no additional travel cost.
For weddings located more than 40 miles away, and within driving distance, a travel fee of $0.70 per mile will apply. This helps cover the time, mileage, and travel expenses that come with getting to your wedding and back home again. If your wedding requires flying to the destination the client is responsible for the flight cost.
If your wedding is located more than 1.5 hours from Maryville, the same mileage fee will apply, and overnight lodging may be required depending on the distance, timing, and schedule of your wedding day. If lodging is needed, we’ll discuss that with you ahead of time so there are no surprises.
My goal is to make traveling for your wedding as simple and transparent as possible. I’ll always let you know about any applicable travel or lodging fees before booking, as well as outlined in your contract, so you know exactly what to expect!
And yes...I’m absolutely willing to travel! Whether your wedding is right here in East Tennessee or somewhere farther away, I’d love to be part of your day. 🤍
