About Me
About Me
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with an expected graduation in May 2027. I am on the job market for 2026/2027 academic year.
As an applied microeconomist, I conduct empirical research using modern causal inference techniques. My research interests are in environmental economics, health economics, and energy economics. My job market paper, "Natural Gas Transition, Air Pollution, and Public Health: Evidence from Turkey's Infrastructure Rollout", studies the health impacts of transitioning from solid fuels to natural gas. In other ongoing projects, I examine the transboundary effects of the Syrian Civil War and the Ukraine-Russia War on air quality and public health, and the consequences of high inflation for population health and health care resource allocation in Turkey.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked for over a decade in Turkey’s energy sector, including at the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, where I specialized in energy markets and policy.
