About Me
About Me
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with an expected graduation in 2026. I am on the job market for 2025/2026 academic year.
My research interests are in environmental economics, health economics, and energy economics. My job market paper, Energy Choice, Air Pollution, and Public Health: Evidence from Turkey's Natural Gas Transition, studies the health impacts of transitioning from solid fuels to natural gas. In other ongoing projects, I examine the transboundary effects of the Syrian Civil War and the Ukraine-Russia War on air quality and public health, and the consequences of hyperinflation for health care resource allocation and population health in Turkey.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked for over a decade in Turkey’s energy sector, including at the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, where I specialized in energy markets and policy.
