About Me
About Me
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with an expected graduation in 2026. I am on the job market for 2025/2026 academic year.
As an applied microeconomist, I conduct empirical research using modern causal inference techniques. My research interests are in environmental economics, health economics, and energy economics. My job market paper, "Energy Choice, Air Pollution, and Public Health: Evidence from Turkey's Natural Gas Infrastructure Rollout", studies the health impacts of transitioning from solid fuels to natural gas. In other ongoing projects, I examine the transboundary effects of the Syrian Civil War and the Ukraine-Russia War on air quality and public health, and the consequences of hyperinflation for health care resource allocation and population health in Turkey.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked for over a decade in Turkey’s energy sector, including at the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, where I specialized in energy markets and policy.
