I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Linguistics at UCLA and work under the mentorship of Michelle Yuan. My research is in syntax and its interface with morphology. I explore how cross-linguistic variation informs linguistic theory and how such patterns can be systematically captured. I am particularly interested in morphosyntactic alignments, and more broadly, case and agreement systems. My research also addresses topics in nominal syntax including nominalization, definiteness and nominal linkers.
My work is primarily based on fieldwork-based data collection. Much of my research has been informed by data from understudied languages of the Iranian language family.
