The 2024 DC Shadow Senator Democratic Primary, the true contest in this D+80% Democratic city as to who will be one of the district's 3 Shadow Delegation members pitted Voting Rights Attorney Ankit Jain against DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Ally Eugene Kinlow in a contest comfortably won by Jain.
Powerless, and unpaid—with the sole responsibility to lobby congress, following the primary, Jain was resoundingly elected to the position, doing marginally worse than Kamala Harris due to a lesser ammount of third party voters in the senate election.
