The 2024 PPD Gubernatorial election, a contest between At-Large Representative, PPD Party President & frm press secretary to Gov Alejandro García Padilla Jesús Manuel Ortiz, and At-Large Senator & frm Hacienda Secretary Juan Zaragoza resulted in a comanding victory for Ortiz
Due to being suported by most all PPD Mayors and electeds, Ortiz landslided Zaragoza throughout the island, relegating the Senator to Guaynabo, San Juan Cataño and Aguadilla, where a combination of existing popularity and local support allowed Zaragoza to win
