The 2024 Democratic Primary for NY-14th Congressional District, a contest between Three Term Incumbent, Progressive Stalwart Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Moderate retired Insurance Executive Martin W. Dolan resulted in the best Primary performance in Ocasio-Cortez's electoral career.
In this contest, Dolan's challenge was seen as semi-serious because of the fact Independent Expenditure groups set aside a decent sum of money to challenge Ocasio-Cortez, However, AOC—taking the challenge seriously—outspent Dolan in candidate money by 20-1.
In the end, It was all for naught, as AOC—through her strength with Bronx Puerto Ricans, Progressives in Astoria, and breaking even with Central and South Americans rompped to a 64% victory in the district, only showing significant weakness with the district's mostly Italian ethnic white Population
