2024 NJ-11th Congressional Election
The 2024 Congressional election in NJ's 11th Congressional District, a contest between three term incumbent Mikie Sherrill and Pro-Trump Stalwart Joseph Belnome returned the second closest race of Sherrill's carreer so far, being slightly redder than her 2018 win.
Facing off against a January 6th Stop the Steal Rally attendee, in a district made bluer in redistricting, after having overperformed Biden in the Red leaning 2022 elections, Sherrill was a lock for another term in congress.
Here, Craig Sicknick, Brother of Brian Sicknick Publically came out against Belnome, Attacking the GOP nominee for minimizing the events of January 6th
However, in comparison to her 18.81% margin in 2022 (where in 2020 Biden won by 16.8%), Sherrill's current 14% margin is relatively anemic when contrasted with her past results.
However, this is less her own fault than that that of Vice President Kamala Harris', whom collapsed at the top of the ticket. Here, Sherrill posted a 6% over-performance over Harris' D+8% win, doing better than Harris in all but two of the towns in the seat (Millburn and Harding).
Harris herself did 8% worse than Biden in the seat, with it trending 2% to the right of the nation compared to 2020 in part because of her Collapse with Latinos (Dover and Morristown), Indian Americans (Parsippany-Troy-Hills) and Secular Jews (Livingston).
