2020 as a year was overall good for the left wing of the Democratic Party, With them gaining seats such as NY-16 and MO-1st, but one place they fell short in was the Berkshires/Hampdem Based MA-1st, where Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse failed to oust Ways and means chairman Richie Neal
In addition to Massachusset's Pro-incumbent Bias Morse's downfall mainly came through failing to the win usually Progressive Berkshires, along with the Romping he got in more moderate Hampdem county(Home to his town of Holyoke).
All in All, this Western Massachusetts district did not see it fit to give up Neil's seniority and chairmanship for a Freshman Backbencher, in doing so striking a blow to progressive's desires of expanding their presence in the lower chamber.
Lastly, a fun fact is that this district is now home to Bernie Sanders campaign co-chariman, former PPD Gubernatorial candidate, and Former Mayor of San Juan Puerto Rico Carmen Yulín Cruz, whom now lives in Holyoke Massachusetts.
