The 2024 Blanket Primary in Alaska's 9th house district, a three republican one independent contest upon the retirement of Republican Laddie Shaw has placed the Alaska Coalition in a good place to pick up the 9th House District.
Here, Education played a crucial component in the race, with Holland getting into the race over the controvercial Dunleavy Veto of a bill that would have increased education funding, and Bauer having supported multiple conservative causes, including reducing Alaska's Education spending.
Education—in addition to it being his home precinct—in turn, likely played a major roll in Ellis' endorsement of Holland, as well as his strong performance in the overwhelmingly Democratic Girwood Precinct.
As a result, despite strong overall turnout in the district compared to the rest of Alaska—29%, in addition to strong democratic turnout—the combined Holland/Ellis result places Holland in a decent position to win this nearly Tied Biden seat come November.
