The 2018 GOP Primary in Alaska's 18th State House District, a bright spot in an otherwise dower night for Coalition GOP incumbents saw 2 term rep Louise Stutes beat back first time challenger Richard Walker to attain renomination for a third term as an AK house representative
Having Joined the 2016 Alaska House coalition under Democrat turned Independent Speaker Bryce Edgmon, Stutes, like a the other GOP coalition-members had a target on her back placed on her by the AK GOP.
However, due to her personal popularity, she was able to win a comfortable 9.8% renomination whilst other Coalition Rs fell.
Rs wouldn't challenge her in 2020 and now she's a key player in Maintaining the current Alaska House Coalition together as their Minority leader dueing their 2023-25 minority, and as a key player in their current Majority.
