Before Mary Peltola's Win in Alaska's at-Large Seat, the last time a Democrat won AK-AL was in 1972, when after disapearing alongside Majority leader (D) Hale Boggs (LA-2), Nick Begich I, grandfather of Peltola's rival Nick Begich III won in absentia.
Winning over then Republican State Senator Don Young in a landslide, but especially propelled by the Alaskan Bush & South east, Nick Begich I comfortably held this seat in the November election, after which the Party lost it to Young in the subsequent special after Begich was declared dead in December of 1972.
Also: Shoutout to @cinyc9, whom graciously provided the shape-file so that I could map this election
