Are you and your students bored with the base Micro:bit?
Are you interested in adding LEDs, motors, and sensors? Then Hummingbird:Bit may be for you!
St Andrew's has some HummingbirdBit Premium Kits - enough for use with small groups. A big plus is that the base kits are quite affordable (1/3 the cost of the LEGO Spike Prime), and you can source extra servo motors from Jaycar, or other electronics retailers.
The Birdbrain Technologies website is your go-to portal for programming and mechanism build videos, as well as a wealth of activity ideas for classroom integration. https://learn.birdbraintechnologies.com/hummingbirdbit/. The embedded videos on the site will play on any device.
For classroom use in a Windows environment, I would recommend programming Hummingbird with Microsoft MakeCode. This requires the (simple) installation of the relevant Hummingbird extension - https://learn.birdbraintechnologies.com/hummingbirdbit/program/.
The step-by step tutorials on the website are fantastic.
