Dr. Suzanne M. Anderson, Director of Restorative Community Concepts PL, has over a decade of experience supporting international schools across Southeast Asia. In 2014, when Jakarta International School faced a major crisis impacting staff, community, and government relations, she led crisis response teams the following year to support staff through the psychosocial and emotional impact while helping the school continue its mission. At the symposium, Dr. Anderson will share key insights and lessons learned from this experience and others, highlighting the importance of resilience and recovery in school communities.
Sian is a highly qualified and experienced International Safeguarding Consultant and Trainer, with both Counselling and Social Work backgrounds. She combines impressive international investigative experience and knowledge, with a person-centred, trauma informed & restorative consultancy practice.
Sian supports many international schools to improve their training, systems and commitment to Safeguarding their students. Sian is honoured to be on the CPU's Advisory Board.
Shaun Flores
Shaun Flores is a leading international voice on safeguarding, mental health, and youth empowerment. A five-time TEDx speaker, he has worked with schools, colleges, universities, and charities across the world to deliver programmes on resilience, inclusion, and safeguarding awareness.
After being diagnosed with OCD at 27, Shaun turned his lived experience into advocacy. He has shared his story with global platforms including the BBC, Channel 4, Men’s Health UK, and the International OCD Foundation. His journey shaped by trauma, recovery, and resilience underpins his mission to help young people move from surviving to thriving.
Rosie is a highly experienced educator with nearly two decades dedicated to teaching and pastoral leadership within diverse boarding school settings.
Her experience includes launching new boarding programs, facilitating a school's transition to co-educational boarding, and establishing boarding provision in schools for the first time. Rosie has led pastoral training for staff, managed student health services and parent communications, and collaborated with safeguarding organisations at all levels.
Michael Tower
Michael is a clinical social worker with experience working in the US, Nepal, and Vietnam. Originally from the US, Michael has worked for government agencies, human service organizations, and education settings in clinical and leadership positions. Common themes in Michael's work include child protection, trauma recovery, and wellbeing initiatives.
Michael has a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago and a masters in Organizational Leadership from the University of San Francisco. Michael is currently the Associate Director for Wellbeing at RMIT University Vietnam.
The CPU is being recognised as a leader in the investigation of serious crimes committed against children in Cambodia, for the care and support provided to child victims and the forensics services utilised during investigations.
