Canadian International School of Phnom Penh
Dedicated to protecting and promoting the wellbeing of all students. Held over two days, this event brings together safeguarding leads, school leaders, counsellors, and educators who are committed to making schools safer and more supportive places for children and young people.
With an exciting line-up of internationally recognised speakers and workshops, the symposium tackles current safeguarding challenges with a regional lens, ensuring relevance for schools across Southeast Asia. Previous sessions have explored themes such as the impact of pornography on the teenage brain, supporting male mental health, creative communication through clay, and the impact of AI on child abuse.
This year, we’re thrilled to welcome workshop contributions from attendees alongside expert-led sessions - building a community of shared practice, insight, and innovation in safeguarding.
Whether you’re new to safeguarding or deeply embedded in the work, this symposium offers learning, connection, and inspiration to take back to your school.
At Encompass Safeguarding, our commitment is clear: every child deserves to be protected from harm - and that means equipping all those who care for children, in every setting, with the right knowledge and skills.
Our Khmer-language training day is for anyone working closely with children who prefers to learn in Khmer. It offers practical safeguarding training, delivered in a supportive and accessible way, by experienced local facilitators.
Over the past two years, we’ve proudly provided free training places to more than 100 Khmer educators and social workers. This ongoing effort reflects our belief that safeguarding shouldn’t be a privilege of fee-paying schools alone. All children - regardless of where they learn - deserve trusted adults who understand how to keep them safe.
The February 11 training is a core part of the symposium and a vital expression of our shared mission: to protect all children from harm.
